This weeks entry is identical to the 'Flowers' diary entry. Guinness developed mastitis and was unable to nurse her babies which of course was very worrying. Pearl has been an absolute star and has taken on the role of full time mum for both the litters, this of course is very difficult for her as there are ten kittens for her to feed! We have been topping up all the kittens and making sure that Pearl is not put under too much stress with the added responsibility. As you can see from the photographs all the kittens are more than holding their own and seem to be coping with the temporary loss of one of their mums. Guinness does seem to be getting better and we are doing our very best to nurse her back to full health. Guinness being the girl she is does try to help Pearl with the babies but is in a lot of pain with the mastitis so sometimes we have to force her to take time out to rest and put herself first.
