The Gemstones are five weeks old today and are well and truly weaned. Ruby just loves her sardines, tuna and prawn mix and while Onyx will happily munch away at this fishy mix he seems to prefer his Chicken and Beef. Jade is not so fussy she will eat anything so much so that if I am late feeding these babies in the morning I find myself doing a quick head count to make sure Jade has not eaten one of her litter mates as a snack. We are on the way with litter training with the girls leading the way with only the odd accident which is usually due to forgetfulness in the excitement of play rather than laziness. Now Onyx is a different story as I found that he seems to object to the wood pellet litter being a bit too lumpy underfoot and so he prefers to do his business on soft paper litter! They are all very active confident kittens and have now discovered the joys of playing on the climbing frame, fun for them but nerve-racking for myself and Cloe.
